If you type “leo dictionary” into your favorite search engine, you will find the “Leo Dictionary” which is a very comprehensive and free online resource. There are also several others. Just search for “online German dictionary” and try out the ones that you find until you settle on one that you like.
Do Translations Online
Have you ever tried Google’s translation tool? I love this resource. It comes in handy when I am trying to figure out what things mean and I just want to see the meaning in context. I can copy and paste whole clips of text that I find online. Now, if you decide to use it is important to still try to figure out the meanings on your own before you use it. Otherwise you won’t really learn anything.
Free Language Learning Videos
Have you ever browsed through the video submission sites to see if you can find some German language learning videos? I have and I’ve even watched a few. These videos can be a nice supplement to any language program you are doing. However, I feel that they are a little too disjointed. I feel they are good to use in conjunction but not by themselves.
Stream Audio and Television
When I wanted to make my German conversational skills better I started watching German soap operas online. And yes, they are just as absurd in Germany as they are in the United States. You can also watch other programing as well as stream German news programs.
If you want to learn German it is possible to study it online. These resources offer a nice supplement to whichever language program you are using.
